AWANAS CHILDREN PROGRAM

Antioch values the children of the church so much! These children are our future and we believe it is our job to raise them up in the way of Christ. AWANA is a global, nonprofit ministry with fully integrated evangelism and long-term discipleship programs that actively involves parents and church leaders. AWANA reaches kids where they’re at and walks alongside them in their faith journey.

Across the globe, AWANA clubs give kids from every background and cultural setting a place to belong, build confidence and grow in faith. AWANA Clubs continually expand to make disciples by pursuing new locations and partnerships. Check below for what age group your child would fit into!

AWANA Clubs meet every Wednesday at 6:30! Check out the AWANA leaders on the teachers page. Due to COVID-19, clubs are not meeting at this time.

Age Groups for Children

THE PUGGLES

Ages 2-3

In many circles, “puggle” is a common term for a baby platypus. In children’s ministry circles, Awana Puggles is an enriching program for your pre-Cubbies kids (usually older 2- and younger 3-year-olds) that presents basic biblical concepts through teaching cards, activities, music and games.

THE CUBBIES

Ages 4-5

Each year of Cubbies will cover both Old Testament and New Testament Bible stories. Thirty-two lessons per year (including two lessons coordinating with the Apple Acres Entrance Booklet and four special days lessons) place special focus on what each Bible story teaches us about God’s character.

THE SPARKS

Kindergarden - 2nd Grade

The Sparks Club builds a foundation of biblical wisdom through memory verse drills, crafts, activities and review of key doctrine and Bible facts. They begin a sequential journey through the Bible, using a series of handbooks – HangGlider, WingRunner, and SkyStormer.

Before working in a handbook, all newcomers to Sparks will complete an entrance booklet – Flight 3:16 – that centers on the gospel message of John 3:16.

TRUTH & TRAINING (T&Ts)

3rd Grade - 5th Grade

The very first night clubbers attend T&T they receive a Start Zone, the starting point for all T&T clubbers.  They learn what it means to trust Jesus Christ as Savior.  They are taught many concepts that are grounded in God’s word.  This helps children learn these concepts and to get the gospel into homes.  Of course, many clubbers have already trusted Christ as Savior. For them, Start Zone is a good review and a tool that they can use to share the gospel with their friends.  Based on each child’s level of understanding, they are taught from where they are to learn or strengthen their relationship with God.
